Signs of Security
When considering which online casino, sportsbook, poker room or other type of gaming destination to play at, you must first be certain that the site is secure and reputable. How can you do this? By making sure the site meets the following four security criterion (all of which you can verify on Net Casino Search).
1) Software: One of the best ways to be sure you are using a reputable gaming site is to check on the software being used. There are many popular and credible options in gaming software, many of which are audited by accounting giants such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Some gaming software we recommend is:
2) Purchase Methods: Most secure online casinos and other gaming destinations will offer you several or more deposit and withdrawal transaction methods. These transactions may be conducted on the Web site, through the downloadable software interface on your computer or through a third-party Web site.
3) Customer Support: All reputable gaming sites will feature 24/7 phone support (usually toll free in several states), email support, and live operator/chat support from the web site. Be careful of any gaming site which does not offer all of these support options.
4) Licensing: Another key indicator of a reputable site is licensing. Each gaming is licensed in one or more jurisdictions, which can look up under the review section for each gaming destination listed on Net Casino Search. If you find yourself winning anything in an unlicensed online gaming destination, keep your fingers crossed you see the money!
Other indicators of a leading online gaming site include:
Payout information: Look for statistics on payout percentages, especially if the stats are updated frequently and/or audited by an accounting firm.
Awards: Credible awards are always good to see.
Transaction fees: Reputable gaming sites may charge them, but usually not the better ones.
Sign up bonus: Almost all credible online casinos will offer sign-up bonus of some sort.
A winners circle: It's easy to fudge, but a quality updated and robust list couldn't hurt to look for.

The Ups and Downs of Gambling Software
Any seasoned online gaming player will tell you, when the computer gets hot in Carribean Stud Poker, two pair won't cut it. It's unproven but essentially held to be true by the gaming community that gaming software is streaky—a fact that is most likely related to the regulation of payouts. When it's time to payout, software slips into a new gear and you can win big. When things work the other way however, you can't buy a win (pun intended). In fact, a widely observed phenomenon on Playtech and Worldgaming software is the two-pair syndrome. That is, you will draw great hands but still lose. You pull two pair (9s and 4s, say), the computer pulls a higher two pair (Aces and 5s, say). And has been observed to happen twice in row! You might have three of a kind and lose to a higer three of a kind. Or course, these frustrating losses work in tandem with others, such as kings losing to aces, twos losing to threes and so on. The bottom line seems to be, when it starts to feel as if you can't win no matter what, walk away and try again later!

Mega Bug
The popular progressive game Megaball from Playtech software seems to have lots of trouble freezing up. This happens once the clock finishes chiming and the balls come out. What happens though, is that the balls don't come out and then the game freezes and you get a "server busy, try again later" type message. I don't know about others, but everytime I log back in I find out I lost. Not that I think the game is cheating me though. I'm just letting you know that several of my friends have had the same problem.
